Here is something I hold to be true:
There are no words, sentences or poems you may say to someone, which will unequivocally make the listener like you. There is no magic formula, no combination of ideas, which will unlock the gates to a person’s trust and esteem.
Lets just take a step back. This is beautiful. It recognizes the diversity among us, and affirms the mystery that is human identity.
It also wrestles from our hands the supposed control we have. If you believe me, then you can never know what exactly - or why exactly- a certain person takes you in as her friend.
What control are you left with? Just one, the choice who you spend your time with. Yet you cannot control who you find to be annoying, friendly or a noble person.
This makes friendships all the more sweeter, not because it is rarer, but because it is so mysterious.
